STUDIO DEBS, a documentary written and directed by Miguel Octave

Documentary about history, music, culture...but above all "STUDIO DEBS" is the opportunity to meet the man, artist, author, composer, performer, multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer, producer, publisher, distributor and record store owner: Henri DEBS, and to discover with emotion the success story of a music enthusiast, who started from nothing and who was able to climb the ladder of success with daring and genius.
Through testimonies from historians (Franck Garin, Eric Nabajoth, etc.), anecdotes from artists, musicians, friends of the time (Raphaël Koury, Max Severin and many others) and family members (his brother and son), the epic story thus retraced of the Maison DEBS invites you, at the crossroads of the sister islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique, to immerse yourself in the music of half a century.
A musical and cultural profusion, a life journey, a family history, this short film available in two versions (52 or 90 minutes) leaves an imperishable mark on Henri DEBS in the cornerstone of the West Indian heritage.
The 52-minute documentary, which has been subtitled in English and Spanish, is currently continuing its journey through film festivals – via filmfreeway – and music festivals around the world and currently has 13 official selections, including 6 nominations and 4 awards.
A Martinican based in Paris, Miguel Octave has been working in the audiovisual industry for 25 years and has been directing for 20 years. It is by working on different media and mediums that his passion for musical projects is confirmed, whether it is live recordings or the orientation of his subjects and themes.
